disk brake conversion for the 8.8 rear axle

Ive got a 83 full size bronco. I want to change the rear drum brakes for disc brakes. Would the brake hardware off a early 90s crown victoria/squad car work for this swap. the Crown Victorias have the 8.8 rear also dont they? I did a disc brake swap on a small bearing 1972 9 inch axle in my 72 mark 4 lincoln using all the brake hardware off of a 94 crown victoria. Can the brake hardware off a 90s Crown Vic be used on the full size Bronco 8.8 rear? I'm going to do more research on this but wanted to ask here also.

there are a number of disc brake kits out there for the ford 9". If you have the 8.8 ive heard of folks going with an explorer disc break kit and having the rotors drilled to the proper lug pattern/spacing.

I was thinking of doing this same swap to my 94. I found this kit from Teleflex for just north of $400.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/TeraFlex-Ford-9-8-8-Disc-Brake-Conversion-Kit-FORD-4x4-/261304998218?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cd6fdd94a&vxp=mtr

There is also a Yukon Version of the same kit that uses different Rotors for $640.

Both kits look like they use the same backing plate, calipers and hardware, the only difference appears to be that the yukon kit doesnt have multiple lug patterns drilled into the rotors.

In both kits you will need to do something with your brake lines. I dont think the stock drum line will reach the caliper. Probly has a different fitting too.
