Thanks Josh! New Road Iron

Got my brandy new rims yesterday. Well... not brand new, but damn near. With great thanks to Josh's Parts Emporium (FTE member jmadsen for those unfamiliar with him), I now have three 16" rims to replace the rusted out ones on my F-2. Josh gave me a very good deal, and the rims I got were in much better condition than the photos of them I received. The worst one as far as corrosion, is really quite sound, and only has minor pitting. These should fill well. Told Josh in an email that I would the "rusty" one as my spare. The "rusty" one is so good, that I will use it as a driver, and pick one of my other wheels as the spare.

Thanks Josh, I am tickled to death over my parts. Pleased as peach!

I got a 226 motor

And while I haven't gotten to fastenal yet, I have to say thanks to Josh too.

not to shanghi the thread, but here's a working trucks photo. josh should recognize somethin out of this pic

I do have to add that I musta got real lucky with the mudflap height. I guessed at that and came out real good - loaded heavy like that I was 3/4" to 1" off the ground.

Awe shucks guys, I dont know what to say; im blushing..

I glad your happy with the wheels, kinda sucks when the shipping is more $ than the wheels though huh.

Btw Bryan i sent those 3 via UPS. The other fastenal shipment was 4 8 lug 19.5" wheels to someone in WI.
That was a referal from Stu, (thanks Stu) I dont think the fellow is a member here?

That pallet looks kinda familiar? glad the 2x4 front mounts stayed in place.

I left the house this morning at 2:30 am and just now got home. Had to find Rocketman 55 a Yblock crossover pipe... ok. I was picking up an ot truck and scouted out some new yards. Found more darn wheels. 22.5 19.5 17.5's. And a crossover pipe. What a day.

it is a 226. i'll do an in place transplant (dunno if you followed the thread, but I am due to throw a rod literally any day) as is, and then once I have my old 226 motor out I plan on rebuilding with a little exvivo expirementation. Don't worry, i'll start a thread when I get to that point

Bryan, I think you ought to do a raffle, take $5 bets on how long that engine (the 0 psi one) will last with a brick on the throttle. I bet you could pay for the new engine! Video please....

Yeah Josh, UPS and the rest have to have their pound of flesh. That said, it was worth it. Around here, there has been a crushing binge for several years, and most all the old scrap yards are gone. The begininng of the end was in the early '90s when the EPA scoured the area for yards to fine. Was looking for leaking gas tanks, oil pans etc. Many yards just crushed out instead of trying to conform to the new regs..

Anyways, finding vintage parts is a real problem. So much so, that it is easier to just post here (and other places) to locate them.

Thanks again!
