Air Vent Chrome Bezel Removal?
We just got back from our first trip towing our 5'er. One of the things we encountered was the sun glare coming off the chromed air vent ring bezels. I am probably going to have them powder coated to stop the reflection. Can anyone point me in the direction of how to take the rings off the truck?

I don't know how they come off..hopefully someone will chime in and help you..
But I do agree with you 100%.. the "bling" on the dash vents, and the console is annoying..I hate it..looks great for a day after you clean it, then it just gets fingerprinted, dusty and scratched... I think the XL (plain Jane) trucks have black A/C vents..I wonder if they're swappable?

The two in the middle of the dash come off with the entire face plate. I just had mine off a few days ago, but I didn't pay attention to how the trim ring itself would be detached from the rest of the dash. I believe the side vents/facing can be removed as a unit. I'm sure the trim ring just snaps into the dash and once you remove the entire panel you could easily see how to further remove it.
The dash panel comes off rather easily. You have to pop the out both the Sync USB jack trim panel with a screwdriver and the same with the little pocket panel on the left side. Behind each of them is a 8mm bolt. Once the bolts are out, you just gently pull the panel out from all the plastic retainers. It feels like they will break, but if you don't pull them on an angle, they are pretty tough and will let loose.
