I have a 2004 f250 6.0 powerstroke. A few days ago the turbo started making a random fluttering noise or turbo fart sound. It would just do it at random times. So I pulled the egr valve and cleaned it cause it was gunned up a little. I put it back on the truck and it continued to do it. Then yesterday when I was driving it it made another weird noise. If you accelerate real hard and try to build up boost it sounds like an air hose is leaking or there is a big suction of air and loud exhaust leak and it feels like the truck has limited power like its in limp mode almost. There is no check engine lights or anything on? It only does it if you put the pedal to the floor otherwise it acelerates normal any other time. Any ideas?

 

Sounds like a boost hose or clamp issue . I would ck those first . If an air rush or leak sound is heard , That is .

 

X2 the CAC boots will crack and split,also the CAC Intercooler is of plastic check real closely for cracks, next will be the Map connection to Intake check the hose and nipple to intake that little hole will be clogged.
