Am I getting old or just growing up a little? 78 supercab

Well, iv been sitting around the last few months thankful I didn't make a quick decision on the old 78 super cab!

I found her for dad about 3 years ago and he jumped on the deal! But for the first year I finally convinced him to strip all "that ugly" trim OFF!! There were several times I went to pull it off but didn't because I knew there would be places that would need grinding and welding.. Anyways, here a few years later I am talking him back out of stripping it off when we repaint the old girl.. now every time I wash it I thank myself a little.. okay okay enough sobbing , I'm just saying with age I have learned to love EVERYTHING about these old dinosaurs..

I've always liked the trim, since I was old enough to like cars. It's part of the truck experience.

My pops had a '76 2wd when i was a kid, blue/sliver. My bro had a '78 4wd green/light green. I always liked the trim, but my style is rougher. I really love the lights on top, it takes me back...

I really like the racetrack trim keep it on there. I was born in the mid 80s and consider myself young but grown up a little.

I've always liked the trim. I prefer the trim just in the dent but like the other too.
If that's yours 77&79 great truck. Love the color combo and stance.

I don't think it's age, as much as proper taste lol I'm 18 and I love the dent trim, hated the stuff on my 01 at the bottom of the doors, but it just looks right on these trucks. I really wish they hadn't shaved the trim off mine, or it would be going back on.

No trim equals no place for rust to hind and start its little destructive path.....just a thought to help ease the fact that the rivets are gone.

Well Jim I do have 5 old trucks, 1 car and 2 tractors!.. May be the reason I'm not married yet

Well I never said I would turn into my dad but you know how that goes.. I now enjoy what i used to call "old man things" like stock radios, stock wheels, Bourbon on the rocks and original trim..

Thanks for the pictures guys these trucks will always have a rusty spot in my soul!

^x2.. if you look close there are spots of rust from the trim rubbing.. it comes with a bit of a headache but I have another dent with it already gone and its still a sharp truck

That first pic is the original argent grey grill and headlight bezel rings. I swapped in the chrome front edge one after a little masking and painting of the deeper none chrome part and swapped for the all chrome headlight rings, I like it.

But all black looks great, with a good solid truck color like red.....
