For sale is my 2001 Ford Excursion purchased brand new August 27th, 2001 with 50 miles on it.
Before I found FTE, my truck was maintained by two dealers: Planet Ford (bought new) and Tomball Ford. After I found FTE September 2003, it was maintained by me and whatever repairs or mods I didn't have time for, were handled by DI Performance.
Mods are as follows:
-Riffraff Gen2 Frx with the Gold Spring
-Riffraff Boots (Blue)
-Riffraff Afe Big Boost 6637
-Casserly Stage I injectors (160cc)
-Gearhead 6 position chip (stock/unlimited tow, high idle 1200, 8K tow, heavy tow, Street Muscle, All Out)
-Terminator T500 HPOP
-Melling M208 LPOP
-Turbo Back 4 inch MBRP exhaust
-Garrett GTP38R with High Flow Outlet and blank pedestal
-Rotella ELC (flushed and installed July 2012)
-CFM+ intake manifold
-PROcomp 6 inch lift
-4.10 gears (with 35s creates and effective ratio of 3.73, great for towing and mileage)
-Pre-pump and in tank mods
-Sonnax/Tricumulator Shift kit
-Diesel site 203* thermostat
-Oil changes are done by me every 4-5K using Chevron Delo 400 and the Motorcraft FL1995 filter
-Fuel filter is changed every 15K
-The transmission was replaced February 2006 at 127K due to the mechanical diode in the 2001 7.3 trucks. It was replaced with an HD4R100, I have the invoice from Tomball Ford for the work. Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums - View Single Post - What is the real difference between HD4R100 and 4R100?
-Transmission was flushed every 30K using Mark Kovalsky's write up: Changing ATF Fluid in a E4OD and 4R100 transmission .: Articles
-The top end of the engine was overhauled by me Spring 2011 using the mechanic's cabinet from Riffraff Diesel (Viton o-rings and seals) Riffraff Diesel: "Mechanics Parts Cabinet" Combo kit
-Stock injectors were replaced with Casserly Stage I injectors by me November 2011.
-Terminator T500 HPOP was installed by me Spring 2011, along with a new IPR.
-New ICP sensor was installed by me Spring 2013.
-Currently running the original black International CPS. (comes with 2 black spares)
-Garrett 38R along with CFM+ intake manifold was purchased and installed by me December 2012. Stock turbo was worn and needed to be replaced to feed more air to the Stage I injectors.
-Melling M208 was installed by Powerstroke Magic Spring 2012.
-Waterpump, clutch fan, and pulley were all recently replaced by me September 2013.
-Front main seal, LPOP gasket, and Wear ring on Harmonic balancer were recently replaced by myself and Nicmike September 2013.
-Fuel pump was replaced by me with a Stock Ford Pump September 2013.
-Ball Joints were replaced by me with Moog Spring 2011.
-Tie rods were replaced by me with Moog Summer 2013.
-Front and Rear brake pads were replaced by me with Wagner Heavy Duty pads by me January 2013.
-Rear Calipers and Rotors were replaced by me January 2013.
-Front Rotors were replaced and repacked with Timken wheel bearings Fall 2011.
-Flushed brake fluid January 2013
-Glow Plugs and both UVCH were replaced by me at an impromptu tech day November 2012.
-Serpentine Belt was replaced with Gates September 2012.
What it needs:
The only things it really needs is to have the front driver seat re-upholstered and the winshield washer pump only pumps washer fluid to the rear window, not the front, (may end up fixing this though), and the windshield is cracked. You can still see out of it and it passes Texas vehicle inspection. Other that than, it's a stout, solid truck that will tow, perform, and do whatever you need it to do without issue.
Why I'm selling:
I bought a 2005 6.0 Excursion and don't have a need for my 7.3. So it's up for sale...
