I kept my build on the low. Didn't have that kind of patience or money to spend. Here is mine. I call it the Johnny Cash Special. It has a 52 bed and frame. 48-50 cab and a 51 front end. I kept the old flatty.

Nice truck!
This build was originally going to be a 'patina" body build, but the truck was so incomplete that it would of looked like dog crap without some paint on it...so it has turned into more that it was originally going to be body wise. Budget also went up with that decision since now have to budget in paint, custom glass, etc..
Chassis wise everything is the same as I would do with an original paint car or truck. While it may look like a high buck build to some this is a pretty low buick build, new stuff is used where needed because I will not build an unsafe vehicle, but really this in not what I would call a high dollar build at all. I have seen trucks here with paint that cost more than this whole build will cost, out of my league for sure. Driving it and enjoying it are all that matter, so enjoy your truck!

Engine going back together

and done!

Thanks, engine is centered, that picture just makes it look offset.

Page 7 of this build thread shows the short shock part number and the fabrication of the upper shock mounts from scrap 1/8' steel.

made an adapter last week and welded it to the tank, extends the filler and goes up to 2" pipe to match the filler I am going to use.

Gas fill will now be in the side of the fender.

I am now working on another super secret super duper project to be revealed in the future , so for a little while anyway this truck will be worked on here and there until the weather gets cold, I get more done when its too cold to play outside.

No biggie, always something to do. Just finished an engine swap in this camaro, anyone need a Z28?

Truck chassis is covered up in the corner waiting for the next installment.
