I have a 1997 f-250 extended cab and I can't get the bottom portion of the rear seat to open. No matter how hard I pull on the nylon strap it doesn't budge. I've looked under the seat and thru the little crack between the top and bottom of the seat and there's no mechanism that I can mess. Anybody have any ideas???
My back seat doesnt lift up i believe its just bolted to the seat housing then to the floor. i can fold the top down though.
On a super cab (unless it's been replaced or modified) the back seat should roll forward (pivoting on the front) and the back should fold down. this gives you a flat platform.
The rear seat is all but useless because it's so hard to get to and only a child fits.
I do not recall any sort of latch but when I first did mine it was EXTREMELy stiff. Try sliding your hands down between the back and the bottom and just grabbing the back of the seat and give it a good yank up and out.
There's a latch; I'm just fogetting (sitting at my desk) where it is. I'll look tonight.
We've sat in the back of our EC truck, and had friends back there. At least as much room as most coupes. 'Course, we and the folks we hang with typically aren't, er, Wisconsin-sized people....
