Is there a special tool to remove fuel filter on a 2002 f250?

 

There is! On the inside of your fuel line, at the point where it connects to the filter there are prongs that need to be pushed away from the shouldered part of the filter. The tool goes inside the fuel line and spreads the prongs away from the filter. You can get one at any part store for around $10 I believe.
