How to remove steering column????

I am in the process of getting my '53 ready for a IFS and I need to take out the original gear box/steering column. I seem to be missing something and I just can't get the steering shaft to separate from the box.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

The shaft is part of the steering box. The shaft has a worm gear located at the end. You must remove that whole assembly as one (or cut the shaft if you don't want to reuse it and thereby destroying it).

Remove steering wheel (optional), Remove the plates on the floor, Remove the pitman arm, Unbolt the steering gear, Unhook electrical, Unbolt column from dash and Remove thru the cab. Install IFS.

You might be able to sell the old one.
