@TylerJ150
Thanks for the add lol and yes I'm actually from up by the state line in Mountain Home, but I live in Searcy during the week going to ASU for the Auto Body program.
I'm a die hard Ford truck guy lol I have the project truck pictured in that album, as well as my DailyD F-150. Click the image to open in full size.

And yes... I have a thing for blue LED's, actually all LED's for that matter. I love the extra brightness with less power draw, and the many awesome applications available. My fog lights on the F-150 are actually 6" LED offroad light bars, extremely bright.Click the image to open in full size.

Look forward to meeting everybody!

I like this guy already! Wait a minute, I sold a '92 Explorer that was an oil burner...a little less than a quart between oil changes. So are you talking about one of them compression engines...or one with worn valve guides & rings?

Old_Crow is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
No accounting for some people's taste. Oil stinks when it burns no matter if it comes out of the crankcase or the fuel tank.

Nice 4x4! I've always thought that '78-'79 grille was the best looking of the grilles on the dentsides. I've been eyeing a '79 short/wide 4x4 that's parked behind a barn here locally, but I guess my wife took care of that for me(as noted in the All Chat thread).

Welcome to the chapter.

I'm fixing to toss it too *ducking* I prefer the 75, I found a pristine 75 clip in a scrap yard today here in searcy, I'm probably going back tomorrow to pick it up.

Gonna toss the purty grille and put a diesel in it...boy, you'll fit right in around here.

Just joshin' ya. These guys like to give me a hard time because I used to work for a Chevy dealer and I have a bad attitude about diesels. Heck, I learned all I know about diesels by working on such classics as the Oldsmobile 5.7, the Chevy 6.2 and 6.5 turbos and the lovely Duramax's. Heck, I even rebuilt one of those Cadillac 6 cylinders back in the day.
Perhaps that might explain my 'tude.

Hahahahaha well I can see why you have a bad taste in your mouth from them. And my 78 grille is busted and dented anyways, the pics didn't really show it I don't think lol

Those aren't engines, just expensive boat anchors. They're great at converting fuel to noise...power, not so much. I'll be the first to admit that a PSD is a little more high strung (maintenance requirements) than one of the tried & true IDI. But it's a trade off for the power.

I really didn't mind the 6.2s and the 6.5's. As a dealership mechanic they didn't really ever give a lot of problem except the injector pumps. Those weren't really too bad to do after you'd done a couple and knew the short cuts.
The Duramax on the other hand... I'm just glad that when I was a motor home tech out in Cali that they didn't have them stuffed in the big Class A's.
