Looking good. But I want a report in a year - will you still be turning on only part of the lights, like A but not B? I did for a while, but by the time the first year was up I was no longer doing it.

Exactly, A sections are on one side of the line, B sections on the other. Should help with the normal issues from fluorescent lights as they are on opposite sides of the wave.

That is not what Bill did. He balanced his lighting with 1/2 of it on the A side and 1/2 on the B side.

Anyway, if you start moving things around be aware that you need to keep the load balanced. Otherwise your A and B voltages can be quite different and any 240v devices you have may not like it.

I finally had a stretch of decent weather to throw some paint on the wood to protect it. This is a first coat of latex primer done with a Ryobi airless sprayer loaned to me (thanks Matt!). I think I will probably want to put a second coat on as there are some areas that need a better coat. Once that is satisfactory I have a final coat that is as good a match as Lowe's could give me to the house siding.

This will at least protect everything until a week or so can be coordinated to get the Tyvek and siding up.

Thanks. ANEC's contract engineer came out and marked where the underground power line will go.

After 2 coats of latex primer, looks like I still need one more before I start with the colored coat.

Primer is not paint.
You're only trying to provide a bond for the finish to the substrate.
How many years do you expect before you cover it all with vinyl siding?

Jim, I have paint colored to be a close match to the siding on the house that will go on after the primer. Probably later this year Matt will be coming down to help install siding on the garage front. It is a combination of protect the plywood and make it look a little better for now.

I think your garage looks great!

What I'm saying is that good paint has enough pigment to hold out, where primer is meant to soak in and doesn't necessarily hide 100%.
2 primer & 1 topcoat will not give the results of 1 primer and 2 top coats, although the labor is the same.

If you're going to power wash your doors, you probably want to do that before finish paint.

Totally agree with the above. With paint you definitely get what you pay for. Don't buy $15 / Gal paint.
