Still waiting on Mary's cousin to bring his 34' ladder, he has a big rush job refurbishing some apartments and his trailer is full. Today I finished the walk-in door. Mounted the threshold and lower seal.

If you're heading to New England, 287 and the Tap is a damn sight better than sitting in Jersey side I-95 GWB traffic, CBX traffic and still MORE traffic at the Mamaroneck Toll Plaza before you even get to Rye/Portchester where 287 would put you onto 95.
95 in Fairfield County is likely a disaster any time from 2:00 on.

I don't miss I-95 one little bit. When we lived in DE we drove north on it many times to and past NYC. And we drove south, through MD to DC more times than I could count, especially since the company I worked for is headquartered in Falls Church. So, now when we visit our son and DiL, who live in northern DE, we come in by making a wide out-of-the-way loop north to miss DC and Baltimore, or go via lower/slower DE and down past Bill.

Finally got the 34' ladder over here Monday, then between selling my old iPhone and too hot yesterday, a doctors appointment early this afternoon, I didn't get to work on the shop until after 3 PM. I did get the rest of the flange off the front so I can measure and fit the last two king posts.

I will, the rough part was getting all the bolts out of the flanges. Going back will take two, one inside and one outside, but their will be a wall to support things better.

I have a length of rope and some eye bolts to use raising the 2X6 boards and the completed king posts into place.

Today I got the last two kingposts measured and built. I found out when I put the first 16' 2X6 up, that it was going to be too short for everything except the left side of the 8' tall door, and only the very first board. I used 14' and filler pieces for the rest of that one and 16' and filler pieces for the other one, right side of the 10' door.

I nailed two blocks, one on each at 7' 10 1/2" for the 8' door and 9' 10 1/2" for the 10' door (that takes into account the 1 1/2" height of the sill plate).

Today I got kingpost #2 up and the header and upper face board for the 10' high door. Tomorrow or later depending on weather, I will finish the upper face board and cut and install the side face boards. These are pressure treated so the should last.

It is really starting to look like a shop. Well done! And I like the eye screw/rope idea. But was the clamp strong enough when that beam came against it?
