71 F250 2wd KingPins repair(Dual Caliper)

I did these on my 64' and it wasn't too bad. One side was hell to get out, but finally came loose. I need to do the F250 soon, and am not sure there are any machine shops that will do the bushings any more. John at Costa Mesa R&D did the f100. but he is just getting to the point he doesn't want work.

Process advice on the F250 ?

I just did the spindle swap on my '68, I was worried about getting those suckers to move but to my surprise it wasn't hard. This truck has been in the family since new so I know they have never been out. I used an air hammer to get em going....I thought about the brass bushings but as you are finding out nobody wants to work anymore.....

Try Marlo's Frame & Alignment in Chatsworth. They can do it all.

I went threw this not to long ago, and I found a class of shops that still have the tooling and know how to do this kind of work. Check shops that work on Buses and Dump Trucks. Many of these type trucks have the same type of setup under the front ends, and the only difference is the size of the King Pin.....

Walt's Automotive in Santa Ana, works on old and new piles of misery.

Bill's Auto Repair in Orange, all he works on is FoMoCo vehicles (without computers).

Chatsworth is located at the west end of LA County, at least 40 miles from Costa Mesa, and you gotta take the hated 405 north to the 101, then take the 101 west to Chatsworth. A looong tiresome drive.

When the 405 opened in 1963, it took about 7 minutes to drive from Westwood to the 101.

Today, it takes about 10 minutes just to crawl up the onramp at Sepulveda Blvd/Chalon Rd to get to the 405...and then you gotta crawl along in heavy traffic for gawd knows how long until you reach the 101.
