Afternoon all. Just finished putting tubes in mower rear tires. Saved $65 by not getting new tires but, made up for it in frustration/pain of installation. Little tires can be worse than big ones. Now for a nap....

Maybe sharpen blades first....

George, that is why I used slime in my tires because there were no visible cracks in the tires. The rear tires are about $90 each and the fronts are $40 give or take. Two bottles of slime..... $22

Hi Shaun, Neil.
Neil, I think the tire people are recommending "Slime" in the tires. The big problem is "dry rot" on the tires. This includes passenger car/truck tires. Just scrapped a tire off my 86 that was on the truck when I bought it (1995). Worn out but no rot. Also scrapped tires around 4 yrs old. Plenty of tread but dry rotten. Global warming strikes again.

Shaun, are you running steel tires or still using the goats.??

I have a push mower so they are plastic and solid rubber wheels George. No need to inflate. I do have two wheel barrows though that like to go through tires because of dry rot.

Yeah I am aware of the rot issue with the tires. The Cub had been garaged all the time until this June when my parents sold their house but the tire issues go back a couple of years. I figure eventually they will get replaced but not in the foreseeable future.

Evening Steve, I think that we all experience some of that as we get older.

How is it in the east tonight?

Oh and boy was it frosty out there this morning. Had to scrape the windows for the first time this year.
