H&S tunner? Y does the tranny program SUCK!!!

So as you can tell I hate the tranny program. Y does suck so bad? No matter what shift program I chose it holds out of over drive way to long, and when I let off the go peddle the tourqconverter comes out of lock up and as I'm still doing 45 in 4th the motor just idles and will not go into decel mode. So consequently when I hit the gas again the motor free revs till it catches up to the truck speed and grabs the gear really hard.

Is it just me or has any one else noticed this?

Perhaps a dumb question...have you done the trans "relearn" procedure?

No I read about it but my tuner never prompted me to do it. The dealer I got it from said some times it will ask some times it will not. If it does not ask it will learn over normal driving.

If there is a way to force it into relearn please tell me

Did you get the instruction booklet with the programmer? If so, it's all in there. If not go to the H&S web site. There is a lot of info on there ands a pretty good forum.

I sold my Super Chips Tuner for this very reason.

I HATED the crazy tranny shifting.

Did you just delete, reload the tune and pass on changing the transmission tune, get used to the truck as it is for a while. Retune at a later date and play with the different shift points you can use. You won't find a perfect shift sequence but you might find one that suites your fancy. First learn your new truck.

I did do the modify shift points when I loaded the tune, I was hoping there would have been more options or even a place where I can change each shift point and modify line presher. And more of when and how the tourqconverter goes into lock up other than the 2 choices they give

I tried the trans tune on my 6.7 and it sucked too. Put it back to stock a few days later.

I think the trans tunes are more for drag racing??

Ok so hear is going to be the big question if I return the tanny shift points to stock will I still get the higher line presher required for the higher then stock hp the programmer makes

i guess i have not experienced that but possibly when it was in the tranny relearn stage? id say try running it that way for a hundred miles or so i think that's what it takes to relearn? before changing back to stock.... i know they say the tow/haul settings are whats set from factory as they are good but cant handle the higher hp tunes and recommend to be used on no power

Iv got well over 3000 miles on since I tuned it and it has not changed. as for tow haul I have another thread going bc my tow haul does not work lol

Yea I don't buy that "Relearning the Trans shifting" as some of these Tuner companies advise

Read and follow directions!

Read then follow the directions from H&S to relearn the transmission. It works. If it does not you might have a different problem not the tune. If there is a problem with the tune H&S is very good about helping out. AS I said read the directions. Also get on H&S form and ask your questions there. Their employee's are on there.
