Giving up on ther projests

I've the 58 and 60 for almost 2 years and nothing has got done. No time for such an ambitious re-construct and no titles so I'm parting them out. I am still looking for a bit nicer 57-58 custom cab, one that's a nice straight complete truck and preferably a runner.
Sorry, I guess I can't post attachments

Consider an ad in the classifieds, which is the proper place to buy/sell.

Been down the same road!but a leaking wheel cylinder got me going again!

I know what your thinking and I,ll explain in a sec. Your post just struck a cord with me.My 59 has been in the garage so long because everytime I got something done or fixed on it I decided it wasn,t right, so back apart with everything to start over. Cab on cab off, didn,t like the exaust. fenders on then off, didn,t like the firewall. Trans. in then out didn,t like the mounts.All this repeated over and over. Lots of putting togeather and taking apart again but never a single inch down the road, kept wanting it to be better.So not to long ago I,m in the garage, there,s a pool of brake fluid under the rt. rear and the left front.Wheel cylinders leaking.Damn! Thats when it dawned on me, those were new cylinders.........10 years ago when I put them on and had never been out of the garage! I decided right there to get off my "high gotta be perfect horse" and start driving it before it was to late or my grandkids wound up finishing it after I was dead AND gone. So that is exactly what I,m doing. Will have the bed back on next weekend and curant tags as well. Yep the fenders got some rust, the panals and gaps are far from perfect and the whole thing is in a couple a shades of gray primer. I don,t mind I,m gonna drive the wheels off it and sweat the other stuff later. I wish you were close as well cause you probably got a ton of parts I could use. There,s not a lot of support in the classifieds for our trucks. Hope ya find that custom your looking for and post up in the classifieds. Didn,t mean to hyjack or rant just want you to know your,e not the only one. Many of us let our trucks sit untouched right under our noses for to long.

Clueless seller sez: 1960 F-100 SHORTBOX 272ci V8 - VIN: F10CON14859

F10 = F100

C = 292 2V

0 (not O) = 1960.

N = Norfolk VA Assembly Plant.

14859 = 1960 Numerical Sequence of Assembly.

Didn't even look at the VIN, Bill. Thanks for clarifying.

I do know the feeling about not getting anything done on projects. I recently put my 32 Chev on the market. I'll never get to it.

Could we see some pictures? Here is how.

But I got ta say becoming a supporter is the fastest and easiest way to post pics right from
your whatever pad/cell thing or home computer.
Few of us look in the users Gallery or album as you can see by your recent visitors.

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
The best photos and videos | Photobucket

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.

Here's a tutorial Bob put together: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/67...-pictures.html Bob's link is not working. Can someone in the know tell me why?

Really? With todays technology, I have to go through more steps than I can even read? If I find the pictures, I'll just put them on photobucket and do it that way, seems like much less hassle.

My brain tends to get me into projects that are outside the scope of my resources. All I had got done was pull the front clip. The truck is outside and that's where most of the work gets done. It had sat for many years, windshield and side glass broke out, interior a mess, engine stuck, no radiator, needs cab corners, bed end caps and a few other rust areas fixed.
So I'm looking at new drivetrain, new wiring, new glass, all new brakes, body work, interior, or I can spend half as much and have just as nice of truck without sacrificing all my labor. Kinda started looking like a no brainer.

I'll add one more BRAVO to Steve's.... My rigs run pretty well, and I enjoy the heck outa them. None is just right and they all need something, but loading an old truck up for the dump and stopping off at the tavern for a beer on the way home, (just one) is just way more fun to me than fighting the last 1/16" of door gap or filling in the firewall til it has no seams or ridges, or polishing the chrome. All that said, the best thing about this hobby is we can do it HOWEVER we want. I'm just sayin' I like being able to heap it up and go roaring down a dirt road without worrying about the finish. I'm glad you made the decision you did. You won't regret it! BRAVO!
