Pinging noise when quick acceleration

Pinging noise when quick acceleration no noise when just driving around just when you step on it!! Is this a timming thing?

What engine you have? It could be timing is too advance or EGR system not functional. Pull codes to see if there are any. Did this happen all of the sudden?
