Was at Richie brothers today and saw this 03 F-350.It had 356,536 miles on it.was in pretty good shape to.Had a 12/03 build date.It started right up with no problem and sounded just like my 07 with 44,000.I have no idea of the history of the truck or what it took to get it there, but I will say that it did have green coolant in it and an aftermarket oil filter .

The 6.0 will last if cared for properly. The most miles I have seen on one was over 900k kilometers (about 550k miles) on a Canadian E-series.

That's encouraging, If I can get to 100,000 less than that I'll be a happy camper (144,000 to go) living in Maine the salt will eliminate the need for much further than that, at least in the chassis it's in now.

I am guessing the hour meter won't read 10,000 hours?

Wow, with 106,000 miles and 3200 hrs. I feel like a cradle robber lol!

What kind of a trip has it been?

Would you do it again, if you know what you know now?

When I hit 131313 km in my 07 I had taken a picture, no longer have the picture though, I thought that was pretty neat looking.

You're correct. I remember when he hit 9999.9 quite a while back.

love to hear about the Big Miles on our trucks. 350k 750k gives me hope. one of the main reasons I bought the truck was the longevity reputation of Diesels. 262k on mine right now and hopeful for another 748k at least :-)

My lifters needed attention at 582k tho. Causing a total rebuild. I'm planning on 500k, pulling the engine n replacing the lifters as preemptive maint. Can't wait to see other 6l's get high mileage. I worked my truck, but was meticulous with maint. I also had 10, of the 16 lifters bad. Which points toward their total lifespan.

The problem is that you have to pull the engine or get access so
the back side to remove the branch tubes to pull the last set of lifters.

The local shop that does a lot of 6.0Ls said that he as a rule will replace the back set
anytime he can get to the back half of the engine without costing a bunch of money.

One of the Ford mechanics said some thing about the back lifters being the ones that
tend to be the ones that fail the most.

Can some verify that statement?

Anthony did you find any pattern to the failed lifters?

I would like to see if the lifters could last longer with more oil. But that will be hard
to do on two fronts. You have to get the oil back there and then you have to test to
see if the work to get oil to the back lifters does any good.

I don't remember any pattern to that,, but that doesn't mean it isn't true tho.

Here is a vid of the lifters in their position.

Only one word
"WOW!"

They really had some flat spots. I was thinking that you might of found
the worst ones at the back end but it looks like they are all over the place.
