1949 Brake Drum Removal F5

The shop manual suggests these are demountable. Visual inspection suggests otherwise. It looks like the only way to do it is to remove the wheel bearings. Am I missing something? By the way I do not see any slotted screws per the manual.

No screws? The axle must come out. A couple big old nuts, and the outside bearing will come out. Pull the hub and the inside bearing will come with the hub. You have the full floating axle type rear end.

Get some new seals. If they are leather, soak them in oil overnight.
