I frequent delaware seashore state park but that's about 40 mins south of Dover. It's right on the beach and Indian river inlet if you like to fish. Spaces are a little tight but it's nice. Actually headed there this weekend.

I honestly don't think there is any close to Dover. Only one I come up with is big oaks in lewes but that's still 30 mins south I Dover. Not many campgrounds in Delaware and most are centered around the beach towns. They do have camping at Dover downs for the nascar races but not sure if it's available any other time of the year.

The Nascar race is this weekend in Dover so you might check if going up there then.
I would expect it to be pretty packed.

doing somemore searching around the there appears to be some mobile home parks as well. Might get in one of those depending upon setup.

since this will be for work and just me not too concerned about ammenities.

Will probably take a road trip in advance-good idea Bob.
