F- Series ATF cooler upgrade

I feel like I have read 1/16 of the Ford/Diesel encyclopedia in the last 6 weeks. I have seen lots of great ideas, but can't always put my finger on them.

I saw a great thread talking about the F-Series ATF cooler. The poster had pics of the mount up in front of the radiator, etc. Now I am trying to find the pic and the part number, and I cant!

Yes, I searched, but those are some darn common keywords.

Indeed those are very common search terms---talk about a lot of reading!

Try this thread, follow the link posted there: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-question.html

If that's helpful its purely luck----I don't usually read a lot about trans cooling etc since I don't tow anything.

Good luck!

Thanks for the link, that is a super nice install writeup. Unfortunately, not as applicable, being that its for a SuperDuty to SuperDuty retrofit. The one I saw was an F-Series to E-series retrofit.

I will keep looking. Bookmark it when you find it

Sometimes it takes a while weeding through so many posts to find that certain one. Definitely bookmark or subscribe to it----it'll be in your User CP forever that way.

Also it might be best to post this same question in the Transmission Forum--Mark Kovolsky lurks there and might share something useful about this topic. (He's a former Ford transmission engineer.)

Keep us updated too please---might be helpful!

Thanks, I have been trying to read mark's threads, but sometimes I go cross eyed.

I've never attempted to install a 6.0L cooler in a van.

The F-Series cooler is MUCH larger and an all around MUCH better cooler.
