slight ticking at idle 91 3.0
I can hear a slight ticking at idle and it has a tiny bit of stumble at idle thats barely noticible.
I changed the plug/cap/rotor/wires, they were due anyhow but it didn't go away.
I was told it could be a noisey injector, but if it is i'd like to track down that ever soo tiny stumble at idle.
Any suggestions what to look for to try and track this down?
Otherwise the van runs perfectly even better so now with the new plugs and wires.
Thanks.

If an injector is causing the tick then that is likely to be what is causing the 'stumble' on idle.
Keep in mind though that a tick can indicate several possibilities. It could be carbon deposites in the combustion chamber... it could be a lifter is worn out... I have an old buick that ticks and we know it to be a lifter and the corresponding cylinder was weak on a compression check. it does not run bad because of that, it just has a very annoying tick...
as for tracking down the problem, I don't know anything about the fuel injection... as for a valve problem my GUESS would be to try a compression check... Anyone else got anything better???
My aerostar has a slight tick when cold only... I am not worried about it too much because the thing has 219k miles on it. plus you have to listen carefully to hear it... How many miles and how old is your van?
