I know Glenn has had issues with the Rotella T6, but I run it and my oil analysis always come back great. I would like to try the Schaeffers, but I do like going to the store and buying it when I need it.

I've thought about trying Shaeffers. There is actually a place real close to me that carries it. I've been using Motorcraft for a while now, but I've never had an oil analysis done before.

I emailed a lady that is a rep for shaeffers, about 45 miles away. I'll see what she says, costs, etc.

Todd, I'm not so worried about going to the store to get it when I need it, one oil change a year is not a big deal. If I used my truck more I could see that for sure.

I'm checking into the racing oil for the race cars too, might as well. I run rotella in them too. Motors are coming apart this winter so we'll see how the bearings look.

Glenn, I'm not doing the 38 gal tank now either. Maybe someday. My problem was that stupid fuel pressure gauge I mounted in front of the fuel gauge. That since has been moved. I won't run out again!

My fuel pressure gauge is the one on the left in that gauge pod mounted to the right and down from the steering wheel. I have to make an effort to see it, LOL I really should put a gauge on my aux tank so I know how much is in it instead of guessing all the time. I also should figure out a way of shutting off the pump of the aux gauge before it over flows the front tank. I did that once this summer , now I stick a piece of paper under the steering wheel cover to keep reminding me that I have the pump on

Glenn, I never got an answer from that lady on the shaeffers. How much do you pay for it? I can buy it online on ebay, comes out to 32 bucks a gallon, free shipping. Too high? Royal purple isn't much cheaper. Mobil one is higher.

That's high! I bought a six gallon box before I left last fall and it was about 19 a gallon. It must be the shipping unless they went up in price. I'm going to get some tomorrow or Friday, I'll let you know.

Anything against the mobil one 5w40 synthetic? I've ran mobil one in my race car and had no issues. I can get it at oriellys for 30 bucks a gallon. Still high, but I'm not gonna mess around with the shaeffers. The lady doesn't answer me, the price is too high to ship it, etc. Ya, its 120 worth of oil, but like I said its only once a year to change it so not a big deal.

I don't know anything about the Mobil One, but IIRC Royal Purple is a little bit less expensive and we know it works real well. We even dyno tested the stuff a few years ago and had positive horsepower gains. IIRC we gained around 11-13hp on the stuff.

Thanks Travis. I'll have to see where I can get the Royal Purple locally.

Was that 5-40 or 15-40 Royal Purple?

Orielly's has royal purple too. It's 15w40 Bill. It is 35 bucks a gallon, but I'll probably try it out.

I might give it a try too. We don't have any Oriellys around here, but I'm sure some of the other parts stores sell it.

Huh... For some reason I thought it was like $28 a gallon or so. IDK. Cody runs it in his trucks and love it. I ran Royal purple in everything except the engine on my F-150 and was planning to switch the engine over at around 2000 miles.. It just didn't quite make it that long. That truck has Royal Purple in everything from the power steering system to both diffs. LOL Wish it ran long enough to tell if it was any good!

You and Cody both like it so I'm gonna give it a try. I need something that will withstand the heat better than the ol' dino oil. I like my rotella, but I don't think its up to the work I put it through. The price has probably went up, like everything else. It's actually higher than the shaeffers even with shipping, but I really don't want to ship 6 gallons of oil.

That 150 just sitting wondering what's gonna happen with himself?
