no spark; how do I test coil? 4.2L
Hello All.
The old F-150 has no spark at all. I was going to take my test probe/test light, have the motor turn over and check which wires come from the harness to the coilpack. Any idea which wire / terminal should "flash" the lamp on the test probe?
I am trying to figure out instead of 'parts swapping'. The coil pack that is on the truck has about 35 40K miles on it. Plugs look good and I put a spark plug test light where the plug wire goes on the plug.
Motor turns over... no light.
I do NOT have the owners manual to verify fuses, But I have looked at each one and they are all good.
Any ideas would be great. It is killing us to just watch it sit. And I can't accept the "just drop it off and we will call you when it is fixed" line from local shops.
Thank You.
