You'd be way better off if I was one of the ones that was closer cause unlike most I actually know how to drive, have tons of experience and don't do dumb **** like that around other traffic

No it doesn't. There's nothing about these trucks that lend themselves to handling well at high speeds. Solid axles, leaf springs, heavy tires and wheels, high center of gravity, etc. Did you read all the posts about not twitching the steering wheel? To handle well, you must be able to turn. Going in a straight line by the grace of God doesn't count.
That being said, I'll set the cruise at 85 or 90 and run all day long comfortably.

Especially with the original 99-16 cab that loves to pancake to the window sills in a rollover...
Truck runs 80 fine on good highways, but add a few too many potholes and it jumps all over. Then the pictures of several wrecks start floating up, including several member's here, and it's not worth it. These older SD cabs are coffins in rollovers. '17+ common cab is the best safety upgrade the SD has ever gotten.

how in anyone's mind.. can going 100 plus on a public road... safe...... misjudge a curve.. go 1000 feet into a house....
much less in a 7,000 pound truck.
I had super bike school classes..
and attended many Track Days... 155 at mid-ohio scc. on a motorcycle.
my drivers license is to valuable to me to due high speed on public roads.
my opinion.

My old V10 ('02 cclb with programmer and exhaust) loved 70mph. It didn't matter if you were in a 50 or a 75mph zone. It wanted to go 70. It was completely composed and stable there. That's just the speed that felt right for it. I've had it over 100. I couldn't help but test whether or not the programmer actually deleted the speed limiter. 70 was the sweet spot though. My current V10 isn't in as big of a hurry. Difference being stock, short bed, and 3:73s (old one had 4:30). This one seems happy with going the speed limit. I'll even catch myself going under the speed limit and have to speed up. I assume it's the gearing (same size tires). Could just be that I'ma decade older
