Waking up this old thread. Has anyone modified the cable ends to get the tailgate to sit at the proper angle? Up angle will cause lots of issues for me and shouldnt be like this on truck designed to be used as a work truck.
My new to me 2013 F350 has this problem.

I think it is a hit and miss kind of thing. My tailgate, with step and stripper pole, lays perfectly flat. No issues with drywall or using the tailgate as a work surface.
