hydraulic assist Steering

I have a 93 F250 IDI. Its currently got 4 inches of lift and Im running 35s. Im wondering if I need to add a hydraulic assist steering kit? its not hard to turn but if itl save my pwr steering pump and such it may be worth it.

Thanks

i have 4 inch lift on my 88 with 496,000 miles on it, nd still use the same pump it came with
within 500 miles it got the lift and 35 inch tires, over the years it has had up to 40 inch tires on it, but the smallest it has ever had were 35's.
only problems i have had with the steering were wore out tie rod ends, and 2 steering boxes.

I wouldn't worry about it. The only time you're putting much extra stress on the pump is when you turn the wheels while at a full stop. I just try to stay away from doing that (in anything that I drive, try to save pumps and tires).

Many will upgrade to the Saginaw pump when the Ford one fails.

No need what so ever unless you are running a 18+ wide tire

Thats what I needed to know, thanks. And yea Ive blown through my current tie rod ends so I'm thinking of going from service to professional grade for a little more endurance. Thanks again
