I had bad injector orings which caused a hydrolock but my truck sat long enough for the fuel to relieve the cylinder. I used the balloon test to find the cylinder. Pull the fuel pressure fuse and then unhook the two fuel lines coming out of your fuel filter housing under the hood. Each line runs to a different bank, one goes to the drivers side and the other the passenger. Ziptie a balloon or finger from latex glove over each fuel line and turn truck over. Whichever balloon inflates narrows it down to which side the suspect injector is. Next, pull all glowplugs except the first one on that side. Turn truck over again, if it inflates its bad, if not put a glowplug back in next cylinder and repeat. Do this til you've checked each one. Mine was passenger side and I had lost the copper washer on cylinder 3 and cylinder 5 had bad orings. The oring sets are just a few bucks each so I reringed all injectors on that side. Hope this helps.

I don't think I missed a step but it was almost 2 years ago when I did it but you can search balloon test. Its pretty easy and straightforward. I think what happened on mine was the injector hold down came loose allowing the injector to unseat just enough for heat to melt that copper washer and she was full blown from there. Check the torque settings to make sure but I believe the hold downs are 24-26 ft/lbs. Good luck.

Are you sure its the injector itself and not just needing orings allowing blowby? One way to check a stuck injector to see if its stuck open is with one of those small handivac vaccuum pumps. Just put the hose over the end of the injector and see if it holds vacuum. If it doesnt then its stuck open. As far as rebuilding you can clean the (I went blank) part of the injector that opens and closes, like a screw type that turns allowing it to open and close. I got lucky and just needed orings. Maybe you will be too. Did the balloon test work or did you use another method?

Also may want to change to oil since the fuel probably went passed the rings into the crankcase.
