First off you would need to somehow cap off the differential hole left after it pulled out, but Im not sure about the hub side. If they are similar to the Ranger then you will be fine on the hub side, but I wouldn't risk exposure of the diff to the elements.
It shouldn't matter as long as you stay in 2H since this position will keep the hubs disengaged from the halfshafts.
That's what I thought.
Here's my situation. Driving to Tampa to see my daughter. While pulling in to a parking place i heard a clunking, popping kind of sound. I can even feel a slight vibration in the steering wheel related to the noise.
My thought was a CV joint. Thus my first post. I crawled under to check for play in the shaft and joints. Nothing. I did find movement inthe vacuum hub actuator assembly. I haven't heard any bearing noise.
If anyone has any thoughts I would appreciate it.
Thanks.
