57 F-100 Pics
Here are some pics of my 57 short bed. I picked this up from a dealer in Cali. The photos are from the dealer's site as I have not taken any of my own. Glad to see that my struggle with the glove box springs was a help to some of my fellow orphan owners.
Enjoy!

Thanks!
I pretty much am going to keep it like it is and use it as a fun/weekend driver (replaces my motorcycle). The pictures do it justice as it's far from perfect but overall pretty solid. Frame is straight and rust free and the body has very little rust/bondo as well. The engine just needed a valve and timing adjustment, and carb rebuild to get it running decent. It has some blow by coming out of the crankcase vent tube so down the road I may have the engine rebuilt as I just want to keep the Y block in there (love the sound!!)
The only thing I hate is that the PO actually put wooden slats in the center of the bed. At some point the center was removed and these pieces of wood were put there. I would like to get a solid piece of steel somehow put back in sometime down the road. The bed was either rusted or damaged. The fenders underneath are all steel with no body filler so why they did that is a mystery. Maybe they wanted a stepside???
When I first saw the bed I was ok with it and didn't know much about the Ford stylesides only coming with all metal beds as we had a 65 Chevy fleetside with a wooden bed when I was a kid. Oh well live and learn.

I took it to the body shop and had those horrible fence posts replaced with a solid sheet or metal. Although it is smooth it looks much better and finished not like someone just stuck some extra wood in it. I also had the tired 272 replaced with a 312 and it runs great now. Attached are pictures of the bed and "new" 312
