97 F350 4x4 transfer case speedo mount?

I've been wondering if my 97 F350's t-case has the mechanical speedo provision. I was under it today but forgot to look... Figures...

I want to swap it into my 86 and want to use stock speedo. I know in 92 they switched to the ABS tone ring and on 2wd transmissions they deleted the provision but I wonder if they just plugged it on the t-case. It's a BW 1356 I believe.

Aren't 96 and 97 F350s supplied with BW4407 cases?

Yes, at least in '97, for the most part. According to my '97 Ford Service Manual, the 44-07 went into F-250 HD, F-Super Duty and F-350 except the 155" wheelbase SuperCab and the 137" wheelbase Chassis Cab with E4OD. Those got the 13-56.

Of course we are talking about Ford, so my best guess is that those trucks always got those transfer cases except in the special situations where they didn't. But my '97 F-250 does have the 44-07.
