You can't expect everyone to know what you know, so what does this information have to do with what is wrong with this grille?
I'll bet 75% of the people who read this thread did not know that the headlight buckets from a 70 will not work properly in a 69 grille. Even for some one who has all the books but no first hand knowledge of these parts, still has to rely on pictures NOT part numbers to identify a 69 custom cab or a 69 ranger grille. There's NO part numbers stamped on these parts. Same goes for headlight bezels NO part numbers stamped on them either.
Many people who I have talked to did not know there was a difference in headlight bezels. Most thought you just need to paint the area black and now it's a ranger.
Even look at D.C. or LMC parts book when it comes to the ranger bezel they say "needs to be painted" that does not distinguish the difference.
Very true. They do not reproduce the original 69 bezels, that's why they tell you that they "need to be painted". A lot of people cant tell the difference when painted unless someone with knowledge goes up and stares at one of these painted bezels.....someone like me.

LOL, REP away!

And like you said earlier, there are no part numbers stamped on the grilles or bezels, So if you don't know what your looking for, all the ford part number books in the world will not help you. I know most of the time there is only an "SAE" number stamped on the grille itself on the right side near the headlight bucket on the grille assembly itself. Right off the top of my head, I know 11 different types or ways grilles came on these trucks FACTORY from 67-72. Im not gonna sit here and say I know everything about these trucks, but I know a helluva lot when it comes to F100's in this era......but that's from years of restoring them. I learned a long time ago that ford books are not 100% accurate and are not written in stone.

You said it was a 1969 only Custom Cab grille, but parts catalog lists no such thing, lists C8TZ-8200-E for 1968 Custom Cab/Ranger, 1969 except Ranger.

Now, I'm not saying you're wrong (I know better than to say that here on FTE. In person, I might 'get away with it' without you going ballistic! ) as the part numbers may been changed.

There's NO part numbers stamped on these parts. Same goes for headlight bezels, NO part numbers stamped on them either.
There's NO Ford (or L/M) part numbers marked on ANY parts after 1956, just casting or ID engineering numbers...when applicable.

As you can see, parts catalog pic for 1967/69 only shows what I assume is the 1967 grille.

Pics in parts catalogs used to get basic parts numbers, so may not represent what the actual year specific part looks like.

8200 has been the basic part number for grilles since Model T days.

(Not posted...yet): Pic in parts catalog defines 1970 only grille from 1971/72 grille, shows the R/L mouldings used on the 1971 only plastic grille inserts, but pictured inserts are 1972 only.

1971 R/L inserts have two vertical dividers, while 1972 R/L inserts have only one. You wanna see these two pics, I'll post them.

Or, you can swing on by (Suzee-Q misses you!), I'll loan you the CD so you can burn a copy or download it into your puter. CD well traveled, FTE members in Escondido, AZ and WA have borrowed it.

Nope, don't want to see them.....

As Robert and I said earlier, grilles are not stamped with part numbers......hence that was the meaning of this post from the get go. And as you stated, there are no part numbers listed for a 1969 custom grille as what is pictured in the auction, so part numbers are not relevant to the topic at hand. Although you offer good info most of the time, Your parts book does not offer much help here, sorry.

PS.....yes, that is a 1967 grille you posted from your parts book.

A 1969 custom cab did not come with a 1968 grille. 1969 custom/standard cab trucks came with a Corinthian White painted grille, which was changed back MID YEAR to an anodized grille. I do not see a part number listed for the painted or standard anodized grille for a 1969 truck that you posted, I only see a Ranger part number listed, but I can assure you that Ford made them. I posted a pic of a 1969 anodized custom cab grille above......so whats the part number on the 1969 custom grille I posted above along with the 1969 Ranger grille since its not listed? That's why I say you cant always go by a Ford parts book. This is yet another instance of that.
Didn't you read what I typed? FoMoCo is in-famous for replacing 10's of 1000's of part numbers EVERY YEAR!

Most of these parts are replaced for use as service part replacements (parts sold at parts counters).

C8TZ-8200-D .. 1968/69 Painted Steel Grille.

C8TZ-8200-E .. 1968/69 Custom Cab/Ranger, 1969 Custom Cab Bright Finish (anodized aluminum) Grille.

C9TZ-8200-A .. 1969 Ranger Bright Finish (anodized aluminum) Grille.

Why is there no '69 Custom Cab grille listed? Catalog final 5/1975 edition, its part number was replaced, probably in late 1969.

So, lets say if you went to a dealer in 1970, you couldn't buy one, cuz it had been obsoleted, replaced by a new number. And where else pray tell, could you buy this grille?

Green Sales might have some, but no one was reproducing them. Taiwanese replacement "crash" parts (sold back then by indie autoparts stores) didn't 'sail east across the Pacific' until the late 1970's.

Consider this: 1965 grilles obsolete, not repro'd, no one has any NOS so they're hard to find. 9/1965: Ford obsoleted them, replaced them with 1966 grilles for use as service part replacements.

You wanna know why I know this? September 1965, I ordered a C5TZ-8200-B anodized grille to replace the painted grille in my '65 F100 Standard Cab, Ford sent C6TZ-8200-B, I returned the damn thing.

1964/66 F100/250 2WD & 1966 F100 4WD Styleside tailgate (C4TZ-9940700-A) hard to find. 9/1966: Ford obsoleted it, replaced it with the 1967 (1967/72 C7TZ-9940700-A) tailgate for use as a service part replacement.

The good newz is: All the mounting hardware is exactly the same. The bad newz is: The two tailgates look slightly different from each other. How many of y'all can 'eye-ball' the differences?

I did read everything you typed, AGAIN, great information, not saying it's not, but its useless to the topic at hand

Example. How would someone obtain a 68 custom grille going by your part number when it was replaced in 69? If they didn't know what the grille looked like to begin with they would end up with a 69 custom grille going by your part number......and it would be the wrong one! Each year had a specific grille as they changed every year.....so even if they could use a part number for a grille they that you listed, (which really now you cant because you cant go to a ford dealership and pick up one) they would still more than likely end up with the wrong grille.
You just said it yourself Bill !!!!!

Just one more example of information that people have been given here.
The 67 grille will bolt up to a 70-72 F100 without much modification. In order to do so, you'll need to remove turn signal housing on the 70-72 truck.
In order to do it correctly, the lower valance should be swapped out. The lower valance from the year of the grille should be swapped with the grille.
Now, people are told that many parts will interchange with each other, this is true, however Headlight buckets (where your headlights actually sit) will not interchange from a 69 to a 70.
You can place these two buckets side by side and not see the difference. (unless you know what to look for) I've seen some buckets from a 70 marked D0TZ-???? not all 70-72 buckets have numbers. All markings on buckets are RH or LH with a fomoco stamping opposite the RH or LH.
As the grille in question shows, buckets used from a 70-72 will fit in a 67-69 grille shell it will not work properly.
Look at the sitting of the bucket in the grille we are talking about. The headlight is actually turned about a quarter turn, The tab holing retaining ring on bucket is now up against both the attached bracket for bezel and against the shell. No way to adjust headlight properly.
Without knowing the difference in buckets, part numbers won't help.
As I said, not all buckets are stamped.
Clueless buyers think their getting the right stuff until they put their headlight in the bucket and realize it's not straight. If they look through a catalog and order one, How would they know they're getting the right bucket without a part number stamped on it?
Point I'm making is, not all parts interchange, even if they do look identical. Buyers and sellers need to be educated. Mainly buyers.

Bringing this post back up, why? Well we were discussing what is and what isn't right with this grille.
Now let's discuss what is not right with this sale. The original listing on this grille had three (3) bids Highest bid being $500.00 The listing did not have a reserve so this should've sold to the highest bidder, right? Well this grille has been relisted by the same seller item # 141073825262
only this time there is 13 bids at $305.00 being high bid.
This lets you know that the first listing of this item was a scam.
I still feel sorry for the winner of this grille when he/she realizes it was constructed with wrong parts.

It is too bad that people use tactics to try and make their item seem appealing. But, in the end, if it does not sell and is relisted then you are the only fool. Now, if you buy his part, and get it and have a problem then that is between you and the seller and in the end you bought a used part off the internet from a individual so you kind of have to take some responsibility. Getting people to stand behind products this day in age is kind of hard to do. This is why when I listed my 67 grill on fordification I was upfront that I don't know about pricing, but I do know how to rate the condition of something. I was told early that you always under sell and over deliver and you will always have a good reputation and people will want to do business with you. But responsibility has given way to profit over the last several years. When ebay went to hiding the bidder names it became open market for fake bidders.

Your right, it is up to both parties. The buyer needs to ask more questions and request pictures of suspect areas.
That's the point of this thread.
Educating the un-educated.

I was in contact with Dennis Carpenter regarding this issue. The following is a response by Customer Service of Dennis Carpenter Dated June 17th 2013

"WE ARE IN THE DEVELOPMENT STAGE FOR MAKING THE DIES FOR '68/69 GRILLES, NOT '67. WHEN COMPLETE, THE MANUFACTURING WILL TAKE PLACE WITH OUR ASSOCIATED COMPANIES IN CHINA. WE DO NOT EXPECT THESE TO BE AVAILABLE FOR SALE UNTIL APPROXIMATELY APRIL 2014. IT IS TOO FAR OUT FOR A PRICE TO BE SET.
