72 Ranchero GT
Hey All,
been awhile since I posted anything...snatched this up in the local classifieds today - original owner, 351C 4V/C6, factory A/C. Needs complete floors, bed has surface rust - has had the topper on it pretty much its entire life. Original Magnum 500s look good...the owner (87 y/o) replaced the timing set in the last few months with his nephew's help but it's out of time. He (the owner) believes 180 deg..so an easy fix, IF that's all that's wrong with it. Has some other rust but doesn't appear that serious...it was bought new in California and lived there until 14 years ago...original paint except the owner painted the hood and roof flat black, down onto the fenders/bedsides. Oh, also needs headliner and dashpad. The bucket seats are in surprisingly GOOD condition. Not sure what direction I'll go with it...stock restoration or the thought actually occurred to me to "off-road" it like Hot Rod's '68 Ranchero...most likely will stick to a stock resto, but nothing "high-dollar". Thoughts?
