Hi, First good with surgery! I was reading Your build thread and noticed your lower rear shock mounts, I believe you have them on wrong. The should be turned 90 degrees and swap sides. The upper and lower eyes should be going the same way to keep shocks from binding when rearend moves up and down. Maybe you allready know that but thought I would mention it. Nice truck and good luck with your health.

 

Good possibility..the kit had no real instructions...I will look at that first when I am able to get back on it.

 

GOOD CATCH! Last Chance, you are absolutely right, both the top and bottom pin axis needs to be parallel to the frame or you will soon break the lower eyes off the shocks.

 

Finally after what seems like forever ( actually onlt since 30 October) my son came over and I supervised some work on the truck!
He got it all stripped down to a bare cab and loaded on the trailer for me..it's off to the media blaster tomorrow! Yaaay!

I had a couple of hours to kill today so I decided to run most of the fuel line..Basically I ran from the engine back to where the fuel tank will go,,It's 3/8 alum line and a few clamps..at least it won't rub or move around a lot.

 

Don, that's a nice clean job. It looks like you do not have a piece of hose between the engine and frame. You need a flexible piece in this location to allow for movement of the engine. Without it the hard line will eventually crack. Other than that it's looking good.

As the title says I went and picked up the bare cab from the media blasters today..It has some ares of concern but overall I feel like it's in pretty good shape for it's age! Some minor patching will be needed.. By far the WORST of it is on the friont leading edge of the cab above the windshield on the drip rail....

When you go to patch the roof, don't try to do it all at once. Start with making the compound curve corners and patching them then do the front and finally the sides. That joint is more complex than it looks at first glance, several pieces come together right at the gutter.

 

It needs a little work but really...Not to bad. Looking at what you have already done I'm sure you can handle it.
