Don,
Looks like you have made a lot of progress. Sorry to hear about the shoulder. A little time to do some strategizing never hurts.

Got the dolly made..(I am NOT a carpenter/framer!)

So after that I proceeded to remove the windshield. So now I can move where I need it and get to work on it.

Hey Don,
We also used an Explorer 8.8 rear axle in our 1950 F1. One question on that - You have a large piece of flat metal welded to your round cross brace that supports the shocks. What is that for? We don't have one on our's - I'm wondering if I missed something... (wouldn't be the first time).

Our doors were also Swiss cheese all across the bottom. Good doors aren't as easy to find at least around here in Central Texas. We ended up doing a fiberglass job on them - not sure I'd recommend that route.

Looking good over there in Tennessee!

They make patch panels for the door frame and outer skins. Mid Fifty says they are working on complete repop steel doors. Look for big job parts trucks, the cabs are all the same as the F100 the doors are often in good shape since they were so high off the ground, usually not worked as hard, and better maintained.

A bit more today..

Today was frame day..started off by stripping the frame bare and taking a wire wheel on a grinder to it.
Got most of the stuff off and managed to get the front C notches for the sway bar cut in.
Then it was time to apply the first coat of POR-15..I have tomorrow after work and Sunday after work to get back on it...then the surgery is Monday so I will have to leave it set for a bit.
I'd LIKE to get it back to a rolling chassis before that. We will see I guess.

Hey Don,
Good luck with your surgery! You know they do make supervisory positions in this hobby. You could bribe some relative to carry on with the project while your wing mends. (I'm actually very good at the supervisory thing).

Surgery postponed til Thursday......

So today I made an effort to get it back to a rolling chassis. I ran into a clearance problem on the brake booster so the soultion was to make spacers out of 1x2 tube to drop the trans crossmember down for everything to clear. Down side is it messed up the pinion angle so I have to deal with that...it's a learning process....but that's part of waht makes it fun.
