IIRC Adrian has a new design wheel that's proprietary to MTW and built only for him. I'm fairly certain that's what the delay (in shipping) is/was. I was going to get a stage 1 turbo from him to drive to Smoke Show next week and DHL screwed the shipping up so no turbo to play with

IIRC you'll need a 12 pt. socket to take apart the turbo compressor housing bolts but no special tool to change the wheel. It's just a nut that may have been ground a bit on one side for balance. Just don't over tighten it when you put it back together. It's not hard to do at all.

Apparently the order was in the DHL sent it back somewhere because there was a customs issue, probably DHLs fault. I know he has not happy because guys were waiting for turbos. That sucks you won't have the turbo in time. Regarding the wheel, I thought he said the fins were the same as the WW? we didn't get into that too much however.

Contact James at the link below. I don't know about current stock but he sells the same single plane billet compressor wheel for the Pmax. He can balance your assembly with the new billet wheel on his balancing machine. Since the factory balances your assembly don't you think it's smart o balance it with the new compressor wheel??

Unfortunately I don't have the time to send to have rebalanced. Thanks for the info, that's good to know.

So can I ask for some updates? What did you get? What's good, What's bad? If I need to take my turbo off, I figure this would be a nice addition. I was looking at the Riffraff one for the powermax.

I have installed a few Powermax turbos with the billet wheel from Riffraff. Never had a customer disappointed. Clay is a sponsor here and has the best service I've found. Riffraff Diesel Billet Compressor Wheel 05-07 - Riffraff Diesel Performance

I don't have much new to say, I would not recommend the Wicked Wheel Gen II however. The EGTs where high on the dyno. The tune helped and to be honest that's as far as I've taken it. I haven't towed so no issue yet. I just haven't had the time to pursue but I bet the wheel that came with the turbo would have been a better choice. The WW is a bit slow to spool but the turbo/wheel sounds pretty good. I may swap it out someday, will post if I do.

Go with a turbo/wheel that guys have used and is tested to be efficient. I was in too big of a hurry and made the wrong choice. The Excursion still goes pretty good however! If anyone uses different wheels with the Powermax turbo, please post results! Good luck!

Clay's wheel is also $60 cheaper.

Did a review on it not too long ago: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...el-review.html

Funny you should mention the slow spooling....

My buddy had one on his '07 F350 and he kept complaining about his Powermax being slow to spool. I honestly thought he was being unreasonable, but I guess he wasn't after all becuase he always said my stockl turbo boosted and responded better than his Powermax and our engines were very similar.

Both had Atlas 40 and SRL+, I ran Clay's billet wheel, he ran Bob's WW2, stock turbo VS Powermax.

I have a SP MTW billet wheel on my Powermax and they go together like peas and carrots. I would not run one without it. Really woke it up in low RPMs.

What about the kits from Nate and Charlie? How are those working out, have you heard?
