Crate Engine

I am thinking about purchasing a 351W crate. It is still wrapped in plastic and has been sitting for 4 years (abandoned project). Should I be concerned about it sitting for so long. What should I be looking for before I buy it?

Thanks.

Was it kept oiled, was the rocker arms already tightened down, receipt to show what all is a part of the engine rebuild, people sometimes forget what exactly they bought after 4 years of it sitting

If long block, I would check if seller would let me fill with fresh oil, use an oil pump primer tool to check flow thru oil passages; especially thru the rocker arm assembly, then check if crank turns. If all checks out I would make an offer considerably less than cost to seller. Not an authority but would assume if there were going to be any issues as a result of setting it would be at the top end which could be rebuilt relatively cheap???
