'89 f350 drum brakes question..

This should be a simple question to answer, I think.

Im rebuilding the rear passenger drum brake on an old f350. I've got all the parts together finally, had to go on a wild goose chase for some. Any way, the adjusting cable is anchored to the rear parking brake lever via an eyelet. I found my replacement rear parking brake lever at a junk yard, and cant figure out how to get the friggin' old cable out, and new cable in. The anchor bolt that goes through the eyelet and holds the whole assembly together is press fit into the rear parking brake lever.

How the hell am I supposed to get this bolt out and the new cables in.. Secondly.. how am I supposed to get it back in?

Here is a photo of what I am working with..

The photo is part #4 (also 2A637 Rear Parking Brake Lever) in this diagram..

there is a small nut on the back of the backing plate(1/4'' or 3/8'') that you will have to unbolt then tap the bolt out from the backside if its stuck. you may have to replace that bolt, as it may want to spin in the parking lever once you push it back into it with a hammer.

Thanks for the info.. I was able to get it out with a hammer and used a bolt I found laying around as a punch. Put some lithium grease on it and it went back in easily. Got the brakes adjusted and everything is looking good!
