Hi, Got a 97 E350 Super RV rig with V10. My Haynes manual does not cover the rear rotor removal for disc brakes. I believe this is a Dana 80 axle with duals of course. The rotors look good, but they do have 105K on them, and the thickness is at 1.48 or 49. I am installing new brake pads, and was wondering if I should go ahead and replace the rotors. If someone could give me some basic steps or point me to a link on how to do that, that would be cool. Thanks

 

To be on the safe side, I went ahead and purchased a DVD of the Ford Shop Manual. I'm sure I could have figured it out, but it's always nice to have OEM backup.

 

That's an extremely wise purchase decision! More than a few have been very disappointed by Haynes Manuals as they're often times just not model or year specific enough to be of much help. Since so many factory manuals are available gently used in various forms its smart to have them for your particular year and vehicle.

 

Thanks JWA, looking forward to what it actually says. I should probably check runout too. I need to get a dial indicator though.
