Restoring Fender Badges
I've tried searching for this topic without any luck...
The last detail left on my Crew is painting the fender badges. Have any of you done this and what is the best/easiest way to do this? It looks like the F-250 badges could be masked fairly easily, but what about the Crew Cab badges? Trying to mask and then cut around those letters doesn't look like it would work too well. I've thought about masking the edges and painting the entire face of it, then buffing the paint off the raised lettering. Any better ideas?

There was a guy that sold some new crew cab inserts to put on your OE badge. I don't have it handy but a google search might find it.
As far as the 250 badge you can reprint them but nothing looks better than a new emblem. Carpenter sells those.
Edit, I believe this is the guy that made them. http://www.onceuponapart.com/installation.html

First ya need a slow drying enamel like 1 Shot Sign Paint (what pinstripers use). Thin it out to get proper flow... like brian1080 implied, the paint needs to flow. A cotton swab (Q-Tip) will work but if it dries too fast then the paint will layover each other and the daubs will be evident.
Wipe off any overages with moistened Q-Tip or rag... Oh, take it easy on the coffee or Red Bulls prior to painting.
Perhaps ya might try loading a small syringe to apply/drip the paint.

The badges I'm talking about are the F-250 and Crew Cab badges on my '76 Crew.
Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I'll see if I can get my hands on some of that paint and give it a try.
