Sanderson FE Headers PN FF427 Reference Pictures
'Posted this in the Dentside forum but I'm an equal opportunity gearhead...
'Decided to test fit the headers on my nasty azz FE so took a few pics for your reference and information...

Passenger side pan rail:
Passenger side.. relative position to motor mount:
A slight interference with the dipstick tube on my 2WD 70. Easily remedied with a bit o' bending:
And there is plenty of clearance btwn the pipe plugs on the side of the engine. Clearance may be an issue if the block has pet*****.

... But you're right... I did some azz-scratching to evaluate if I really want to go through all the trouble in cleaning up this 70K-mile 360 and say heck with it, raid the fun money account (I want a Ferrari F355) to build a 445FE. Then I snapped out of it... a monster FE will come someday but not now.

Aw yes nice an easy to install even when the engine in the truck. Good time to get a mini starter as you'll have only about 1/2" or less of clearance with the stock starter in place. Yes the tubes do run cooler then un-coated headers. But when that day comes you'll have to pull the header for starter REPLACEMENT.

They are all a work of art, As are all Fords early Engines.
A little paint, A little chrome, open them up so they can breath
Than ya can call them "Nasty". Cuz Chevy owners do

The starter mounts aft of the header tubes and do not trap the starter in its mounting position unlike other header designs.

Sanderson shorty's are not the same as the block huggers that HiOHO has posted on his engine. But looks like no starter issues from what, I've seen on a mock up at the good guys show last yr. The shorty's may have some frame issues on the narrow frame vehicles 4wdwhere the head pipe bolts up.. ..orich
