06 SuperCrew; headlights stay on always

Hello all. 2006 SuperCrew, 2WD 4.6L with 117K miles.
headlights will not turn off. totally drained battery. I replaced dead battery wit a fresh one. truck started right up. Headlights on. I turned switch to right and left, and 'clicks' sounded and seemed normal. Headlights on.
Turned truck off and pushed button on key fob. Headlights still on.
Disconnected new battery and trying to figure this out.

Any ideas?

Could it be the headlight switch is bad? Could it have a 'short' that doesn't allow it to turn to the OFF position?

Thanks for any responses.

If you have the auto headlights (not sure if all of them do) there might be a problem with the relay. I had that problem with mine but it reset when I cycled the switch to off then to auto. Just a thought

Which relay is for the low beams? I have the factory owners manual and it show fuses but the relay for low beams are not listed. Would a AutoZone type place have relays or is it a dealer item.
Thank you.

See if you have a DRL module (Daytime Running Lights). If you do, locate it and unplug it. If the lights go out, then the module is at fault and needs to be replaced.

Well, had to take it to the dealer. Body Control Module.
Total cost....$550.
But, it is fixed so that is the main thing.
