53 F-100 215 c.i. questions

I am restoring a 53 F-100 with the 215 six cylinder. When I look for engine parts I typically only find reference to the 223 six cylinder. How interchangeable are the parts between these two engines? Are they basically the same except for the bore?
I want to add an aftermarket header and Offy 3126 triple carb intake but the only ones I can find are for the 223. I just want to be sure they will fit before I buy them.
I'm sure this has been asked somewhere on this site before I just can't seem to find it.
Also any recommendations for carbs to use with the triple carb Offy intake manifold? Offy has a linkage kit for three Strombergs but doesn't say what model to use.

Most parts interchange between the 215 and 223 motors. The intakes and exhaust manifolds are the same.

However, if I were you, I'd think long and hard before installing a 2x or even a 3x Offy intake. I had one on my 215 in the 52 and had nothing buy problems. No matter how well the carbs are adjusted or are in sync, I still had problems. The set up may look nice, but performace isn't there. All there was for me was just headaches.

Thanks for the heads up and awesome photos! Very nice setup. I also looked at some stuff from Clifford for a single two barrel that may be a better setup. I'm not trying to hop up the 215 too much since it's limited by size and design anyway, I just want to squeeze out a little more power and driveability. Any more tips to do that would be great.
Since it will have to go to the machine shop anyway I am thinking of shaving the head some to get the compression up from the stock 7:1 ratio if the bottom end can handle it.

Once I switched back to the stock set up, the truck got more umph, speed and power. Try the stock set up first.

If you go to a different carb, or multiple carbs, you have to change the distributor. It will make as much improvement as the carbs, too.

If you decide to change out the dizzy, give this guy a try. I hear he does excellent work.
Our Services

He can either make a GM or a Mallory dizzy to work with your engine, but you'll need to send your existing Ford LOM dizzy to him.
