Need some help with HG question

For a few years I want to purchase a kit to delete the erg and unfortunately there was something of higher priority in need of attention so last week My 05 6.0 got a little hot (turned it off right away) and I can see some coolant on the tail pipe as well as water mixed with oil on the dipstick.
If this is just can be fixed with just the egr kit I would order it and install it Myself but if it is HG I would rather have a shop do it for Me. So does anyone know and can recommend a shop in Maryland or near the metro area with experience in this particular model engine that will be able to do a HG job and install the kit for Me?
I used to know of someone in Va who offered a complete 'fix' Hg and egr delete but I lost the information and can't contact anymore, so any help is appreciated. Btw the truck is otherwise in very good shape and doesn't pull heavy trailers.

Thanks.

Don't go with any "kits" unless they contain an OEM head gasket.

Did it vent coolant out of the degas bottle when it overheated? Coolant in the tail pipe could be EGR cooler, coolant in the oil could be a ruptured oil cooler. Head gaskets could still be ok if it didn't vent. Unfortunately proper diagnosis would involve replacing the coolers first so the head gaskets could be checked out. Pulling the heads will be significantly more expensive than just doing the coolers.
so the options are,
1.) less work and expense not needing the head gaskets.
2.)Extra work taking the coolers back off to replace the HG's.
3.) replacing everything at once and hopefully being done with it.

There other options along they way, aftermarket oil and EGR coolers, studs vs factory bolts,
And as bismic pointed out above, aftermarket vs factory head gaskets. Post back if we can help on any of those questions.

You may want to post your shop question in the Maryland chapter FTE forum. Good luck with the truck!

Thanks for the answers. No it did not spew coolant out of the degas bottle, it mixed the oil and coolant and then later I could see coolant (steam) out of the tail pipe and that is when I turned it off. I cranked it afterward and it started but I did this just to see that it was fine then shut it off. Only other thing I did before was a coolant filter, I removed it to see the contents and there was a little bit of oil in it but not enough to mix. In this case I could just do the egr delete kit and keep the egr connected to the wire plug and see if the ECM is ok with that. For this I will need to do a complete flush, I'll do a search for the procedure, where/what should I use for this?

I will call the mentioned and maybe do a complete service with a shop if the have packages where they can do a complete fix. Btw I'm in Frederick, Md.

Thanks again.

If you have oil in the coolant and now coolant in the exhaust my guess would be the oil cooler and egr cooler have failed. After you have replaced the oil cooler and either replaced the EGR cooler or deleted it you need to do a flush with simple green to get all of the oil out of the coolant system.

Thanks You, I was wondering about this since I read about some using some restore product in several steps before using new coolant. I called napa the other day and they have no clue about what type coolant I should use on a 05 PSD and I read here ford stuff is no good.
