I thought I would share my blog onto a build thread.

Erlier it has been in Swedish but now I have translated it into english.

So here it goes.

Your seat looks wonderful. I wonder if your new friends will now manufacture speedometer scales for 1956 Fords. Thank you for sharing your superb work.

I love the way you are doing this. Driving her in summer and letting her tell ya what project ya need to work on in the winter.

It just don't get any better than that.

And the eye for detail that you have is awesome to say the least.
I just hope I live long enough to see her finished. Are they ever really finished?
Maybe I guess if and when you sell her.

 

Excellent work, all of it looks great! If your math is better than mine, maybe you could take the numbered wheels out of the odometer and re-do them to change to Kilometers.

Down here in Houston we don't really have much of a winter. We only hit 32F a few times last winter, so I get much more time that I could work on it but lately don't seem to be able to take advantage of that.

The funny thing is that she has been sitting for a while in the garage now the past year as I got a baby girl last summer. So now I have a boy of 4 years and a girl at 1 so the time has been occupied but this past weeks I have been out in the garage looking for something to do and finally decided to tear apart the front suspension and steering as is has been a little sloppy.

Fot 7 years I have had big planes for IFS and 4-links with bags and everything but that has come from the engineering brain of me, but in the stomac it has felt a littlebit wrong. So this past weekend handeling the front suspension I thaught:

What the hell, lets strip her apart this winter and get the whole chassie worked over.

So now I have thrown the IFS, 4-links and bags out the window.

Now it is posies super slides, midfiftys toyota design power steering, midfiftys swaybars, media blast and epoxy primer and powder coat that´s on the TO DO list for the winter.

My o my this timie it might take 2 winters with a summer inbetween to get ti done.

Actually I have thaught if there is a way of changing the gears for the odometer and not influence the speedometer? Well well lets see what the future has to offer.

 

Change of gearing could work well. Maybe machine them out of Delrin. A clock maker could do it easily. The math is easy - once you know it!

 

I am making some slow progress with the dismantling of my truck, but the rear Farm bumper shure as hell aren´t lightweight.

Alone in the garage I solved it this way.

I couldn´t hold it in the same time I removed the last screws.

Hey you all

Tonight I removed the rear axel and was a littlebit puzzeled about this rabbit thing. Witch shoe goes where in the rear of a 56 F100?

I had the littleone to the rear and the big one to the front? Is that correct or not.

I have had some trouble with the parking brake beeing quite week never been able to lock the rear wheel. Can this be the reason.

 

Jimmy there has been a few threads about just this in the last few weeks.
It's funny to me how things like this get grouped together at about the same time.


Do not quote me and do some searching on yer own. But I think yer brakes should be the other way around.
