Hey Jimmy,
Great Update!! You look like you are powering through all
the work! I like your pics with your little helper there! I wish my son was that size again.

Looking good in Sweden!

Nice work! I rebuilt my '64 Volvo back in '70, but not nearly as nice or well as you are doing your American truck!

Hi

Well you know with two small kids (2 and 5), spare time is a rare product, same with fundings.

Last fall when I started I said about 3 years, and today I still say 3 years despite almost 1 year have past.

I plan to have the chassie all done and painted this winter. Shouldn´t be impossible.

But the thing is that I really enjoy the time in the garage and that´s almost the most important thing. I really dont want it to become done to soon, because then I need to find the funding for the next project, what ever that may be

The little helper is in most cases an angel, but I belive you only remember the good time, as one always seems to do.

Sometime it is really good to have the project in the garage to take a retreat to when the two small once have declared a war agains mum and dad.... it happens to once and a while....

Hey Jimmy,
When they declare war on mom & dad - we call them "little hellions".
"Noun 1. hellion - a rowdy or mischievous person (usually a young man); "he chased the young hellions out of his yard""

3 years is a realistic time frame for a frame off restoration. I think it took us about that long & we had a lot of help. You are doing great!!!

Made some pictures for my own memory, for the rebuild.

DinnerHill SpeedShop: Brake system brackets

DinnerHill SpeedShop: New rear drum brakes

And now I stumbled upon two broken frame rivets......

DinnerHill SpeedShop: Broken frame rivets

and the process of fixing them

DinnerHill SpeedShop: Riveting tools

DinnerHill SpeedShop: Re-riveting

I must say the riveting thing was probably the most fun part of the restoration so far, it feels good to learn new things, and I am quite proud with the end result

Over and out

You know, when restoring an American vehicle in Sweden, it´s critical with good contacts over there.

A big thanks to all of you!

Some updates

DinnerHill SpeedShop: Clutch shaft bushing replacement

DinnerHill SpeedShop: Loading up for paint, chassie

I got it !!
DinnerHill SpeedShop: 1:st NOS mirror head and arm

DinnerHill SpeedShop: Ash tray

I got this one as well
DinnerHill SpeedShop: 2:nd NOS Mirror, complete assembly

I placed a bid (almost pocket change) and I got them, That was before I got the square ones...
DinnerHill SpeedShop: A second set of "some" NOS rear view mirrors

Finally I am starting to climb out of the hole instead of just making the hole bigger
DinnerHill SpeedShop: Picking up the frame from media blast and paint

So what do you think guys??

It's looking good. I like shiny stuff.

Props on finding the mirrors. It seems you're getting pretty good at finding the hard stuff. Patience and diligence.

I cant imagine how hard it was before internet, especially when I am located on the other side of the pond...

The great thing is that it actually takes some time to find all the good NOS parts so that you can actually put away some sawings meanwhile so when you eventually find the fun stuff you never need to hesitate. I know I want it and I know I have the money.

Is actually more expensive to just surf into a well organized web shop and spend way to much money with just a few mouse click, it´s however necessary but not at all as fun as chaseing the hard to find parts....

just my ten cent.

I forgot to mention one important thing.

Without the help from some of you, especially NumberDummy and bigwin56f100, the search would be a lot harder
