Backwards Q-jet on 73-79
Hey all,
Any of you done it? How do you hook up a throttle cable with the 73-79 pedal bracket?
The reason I'm doin it is cos I'm sick of my holley 4150 keepin me stranded on off camber and inclines. Read on pirate about a backwards Q-jet and it sounds pretty shveet.
I'm open to suggestions, cept edelbrocks cos they're gheyness

Ive ran edelbrocks that get all wacked out when driving a car too hard on ASPHALT. I'm talking like 45-55* inclines and 30-40* off camber driving. That I'm trying to do here
Hav2- that a summit brand holley 3310 or a q-jet?
a/o- I have a quickfuel that I put on my dad's torino, that thing is the sheeeeet! Love it. The SS series can lay a rape to any other holley style out there. I'm trying to get away from the holley bowl design and vent though. I like the q-jet cos of the center bowl and jets in the bottom.
Hav 2- interested in that straight 6 idea. They used thottle cables?
P4- its a DD foremost, also a tow rig, and wheeler. I don't think propane is practical and I have too much into the fuel system ATM to justify a switch to propane. I hear there's some huge advantage to having it backwards, I'm guessing it has to do with the needle and seat location relative to where the float is hinging that you don't lose fuel control on inclines.

i have nothing of value to add, but i vote edelbrock. my experience with holleys is that they are for "carb people" who know how to tune and will continuously adjust sheot. that ain't me, so i'll take the stupid simple adjust once and done e-brock all day every day.
same truck, same motor. holley, 750 i think, ran like a raped ape and had whip crack response. also ran like sheot on anything other than straight line pulls and only managed 4-5 mpg. edelbrock 750 was a better all around carb. mpg went up to 9-11, i could side hill and even got my truck vertical and stuck my hitch in the ground and it kept running fine. i lost some response and power but it was a dd, not a dedicated toy.
plus their stickers are cooler....
