Long day at the big barn, at least I was inside working all day. Working on red tomorrow, ordered my matching interior paint in aerosol today.

Great news, Chip!

The "job" has taken an interesting turn. The owner got an epiphany. If you buy the same type vehicle, you'll have parts-o-plenty for all of them. We are now LOUSY with 2005-2010 Ford trucks. ....and I'm not complaining, either.

As far as the g2g goes, I want the shop to look like something first. I think we'll get a good chunk done this weekend.

Hey all. I'm new to the forum. I need some general opinions on 3.55 gears with 35" tires. I'm building a 70 f100 4*4 with 302 & 4spd. Before ya'll bash the 302, my plans are to build a 347strkr. What are your opinions on the 3.55s. I appreciate all input. Thanks guys..

I'm running 33's with 3.50's. I put them in on purpose because of the six I have. They work great for me, but 35's might be a little too big of a tire with 3.50's and a 302. Even a 347. 302's and stroker engines don't make power until you turn them up. (higher RPM's) if you have tall gears and tires, it'll take a while for the power to come up. Long story short, I think the truck will be doggie of the line and through first gear. I think 3.73's or 4.11's would be a better choice.

That's kinda what i was thinkin. I have a 4.11 rear and a 3.54 front, so i was trying to decide what gears i was going to change (front or rear).

^ Can't go wrong with advice like that!

While its not a Ford, my Hemi Durango has 3.55's with 30" or 31" tires and it is a dog from a dead stop. I love the hwy mpg, but some off the line acceleration would be nice too. I personally like the 3.73's in my E350. They are deep enough for some pick-up from a red light yet high enough that the gas mileage on the highway won't kill you.

good morning missouri.. i guess i will try to get a few productive hours in today... yesterday i did get the switch's installed in the door posts so the dome light will come on when the doors are opened (a option in those years), installed wires for back up lights (another option) and a few extra wires through the a-pillars to the trunk while i was in there, no use for them yet but figured better to have to many wires (extra speakers, amp and the such) than not enough before i get the headliner installed and no longer have access. i have the new wiring harness pretty much done. there are so many small things i have been doing that dont show up at the end of the day but still need to be done....

alan i would like to come up this weekend and check out the new shop if you have time.. but i dont want to come to the old shop if you are not going to be home so i will call first
