I'm going to replace the rad hose to the "around" version and then put on a new serpentine belt on my 02 F350. Have checked here and in my manual but no mention of whether it matters which way the belt faces as long as groves are down. Is that correct?
Don't put is on backwards... it will be really hard to read when the engine is turning.
Reminds me when I was an apprentice helping with commercial boiler service -the journeymen would hand you a bucket & tell you to get a bucket of steam, ouch thats funny. After a couple times hearing this I would take the bucket & fill it with about an inch of water & tell them it was full but condensed.

ya i've been known to send a few new guys out to the back of the truck looking for a sky hook.
In the Air Force we used to send the newbies to the tool room for 100' of flight line. If you had a seasoned tool tech he'd send them to the first shirt to tell him we were out and needed to order more
Years ago when I worked in wireless communications we'd always send the new guy to the truck(usually from the top of a tower) to get the coax stretcher..... Most would go without a question, untill they got down to the truck and looked through the whole thing.
you actually can put a belt on backwards.
grooves go to grooves, and smooth goes to smooth. but you have to pay close attention to the belt routing diagram. if the belt is put on the wrong way it can spin the water pump reversed causing an overheat condition very fast after starting.
You can have 100' feet of FL...it is called PSP ....same as a bucket of prop wash
